Weekend Notes: Easter Edition

Happy Easter weekend to those who celebrate! Our house is buzzing with a bit of last-minute prep before Sunday, which feels very on-brand for us. Case in point: Keith is currently on a late-night Target run to grab a few essentials we forgot about (or maybe procrastinated on entirely). Some families are organized weeks in advance—I admire those people, but we’re simply not them.

A Little Blog Refresh

Switching gears, I’ve been feeling like this blog could use a mini makeover. Nothing dramatic, but a small refresh to keep things feeling new. To my longtime readers: I’d love your input. Are there features you wish were here? Anything about the current setup that feels clunky or annoying? Constructive criticism is always welcome—I want this space to feel like the best experience possible for all of you.

Morning Rituals

One thing I don’t often talk about but always do: stretching. I can’t start my morning without at least two or three minutes of it. Nothing too elaborate—just enough to wake up my body and shake off the stiffness. If you’re looking to start a routine, I loved this round-up of nine full-body stretches that release tension everywhere. It’s the kind of list you want to bookmark and keep handy.

Things Worth Noting

This week I stumbled across a handful of articles and little gems worth sharing:

  • 16 Beautiful Small Towns to Visit: Sometimes the best trips are the slower ones, and these towns make a strong case for swapping the city for cobblestone streets.
  • Why Some NYC Restaurants Are Going Members-Only: Dining in New York has always been an experience, but the rise of exclusivity is… complicated. This piece breaks down the trend.
  • 5 Common Interior Design Mistakes: Guilty of at least two of these, and I bet I’m not alone. Small tweaks can make a huge difference.
  • How to Be a Genuinely Good Listener: Something I’m always trying to improve at, especially in a world where everyone seems ready to respond rather than really hear.

Current Style Favorites

On the style front, a few pieces have been on heavy rotation—or recently found their way into my closet:

  • Earrings I Can’t Stop Wearing: They’ve been my go-to lately, versatile enough for everyday but still polished.
  • This Denim Dress: I already owned it in a classic blue, loved it to the point of over-wearing, and had to grab it in a new color. No regrets.
  • Shopbop Favorites: I recently updated my “hearts” list. It’s a meticulous process—scrolling through every page to curate only the best finds—but it’s also my version of window shopping.
  • COS Picks: COS has been quietly killing it lately. I rounded up my favorite pieces over on Substack, in case you’re also browsing for clean, minimal spring staples.
  • The Savette Clutch: Still one of my favorite purchases of 2023. After so many of you asked, I finally posted a full review. It’s timeless, functional, and everything I want in a bag.

And then there’s my dreamy lust list, the pieces I probably won’t buy anytime soon but love to admire. Sometimes the fun is just in imagining.

Out and About

A small but surprising update: LaGuardia Airport may now be my favorite of the New York trio. Historically, it’s been my last choice—farthest from me and famously outdated—but after flying through recently, I have to admit it might just be our nicest airport at the moment. Never thought I’d type those words.

And for some guaranteed joy, if you don’t already follow this Instagram account featuring wholesome street moments in NYC, please do. It’s the kind of content that makes you smile even on the roughest days.

Wrapping Up

This weekend feels like a mix of holiday hustle, quiet reflection, and little indulgences—stretching in the morning, browsing Shopbop finds in the evening, and sneaking in moments of inspiration from the corners of the internet.

To those celebrating Easter, I hope Sunday brings joy, good food, and time with family. To everyone else, I hope you find a little pocket of rest or delight in your weekend.

Enjoy the rest of it!
